Do you know who you are? Do you know what your name is? These seem like silly questions, I know. I’m not talking about the name on your birth certificate, I am talking about the name that God knows you by. Of course He knows your earthly name, it was ordained for you before the foundation of the world. However, there is a name that God calls you by that has been pinned to His heart before time began.
Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1
Do you know who you are?
We are descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We are descendants of the bloodline belonging to the house of David. Out of the House of David came a sceptor, Jesus Christ. Yet there are times when we don’t act like we come from such an important ancestry. How we treat one another, even ourselves, doesn’t show that a have such high parentage.
Do you know whose you are?
He states in the scripture that “you are mine”. We were bought with a price, a high price, because there was a debt that we could never repay. We come from royal lines and belong to the Most High. However, as my great aunt would say, “Y’all running around like you ain’t got no daddy”.
Know who you are and whose you are. We have been called by our name and sometimes we are the only example of Christ people see.
