Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.” Exodus 14:13
Have you heard the phrase, “I’m unbothered”? It means to not be touched, worried, or phased by something or someone. Unfortunately many of us go through life VERY bothered. Bothered by our pasts. Bothered by our future. Bothered by current circumstances. Bothered by other people. Bothered by ourselves! Basically Moses was telling the Israelites to not be bothered by the approaching Egyptians. After everything that God had done up to this point, there was no way Moses would believe that God would leave them trapped at the Red Sea. Isn’t it awesome that God will meet you right where you are, right in the midst of your mess? Isn’t it even better that He loves you enough to not leave you there?
The enemy is always prowling about looking to kill, steal and destroy. The question is do you trust God enough to stand firm, not move, not doubt and wait for your deliverance to be manifest? That is the hard part, the waiting. Even the Israelites had an issue with it, even though their deliverance was imminent. The questioning and doubting was almost immediate. Yes, the enemy is bearing down on you, trying to take you back into captivity. Has the Lord not already brought you out? Has He not let you strip your enemy bare while you were on your way out? Why would you think that He would fail you now? Why would you think He would allow you to go back to slavery after all the effort to free you? If He has done it once, what makes you think He won’t do it again? He is the God who was, and is, and is to come. He is from everlasting to everlasting. He is not a one hit wonder. The enemy you see today, you shall not see again.
Sometimes we let the things we are going through become more powerful than the God within us.Sometimes our worst enemy is us. God overcame THE WORLD. Do you not think He can handle the issues (worldly or spiritual), that you are dealing with? Don’t be bothered by the circumstances, don’t be bothered by the enemy. Be unbothered, God’s got it. Many of the things you are dealing with are temporary and so minute in the scheme of eternity that you will wonder why you wasted so much energy battling it yourself instead of just being still in the first place. Wait and be still. While you are waiting, pray. Your deliverance will come.
The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still. – Ex. 14:14
